NIFA: Woodland Birds

  • February 28, 2022
  • 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
  • Stockton Public Library

NIFA is pleased to host Richard Benning of Northwest Illinois Audubon  on Monday, February 28th, at 7 pm at the Stockton Public Library. Mr Benning will discuss eight birds that rely on woodland ecosystems and explain how they utilize the woodlands in various ways.

Richard Benning, Northwest Illinois Audubon Society, leads bird walks and compiles the Freeport Circle of the Christmas Bird Count.  He retired ten years ago from being the youth education coordinator at the Dells Nature Center near Rockford.  He finds all areas of natural history interesting and realizes more and more how everything is connected.  He finds birds especially fascinating because of their diversity and adaptations.  Watching and learning about birds is both rewarding and challenging, and the more one observes and learns about birds the more they want to see and learn still more.

This meeting is free and open to the public.  You may also join the meeting via Zoom using this link -
