The Northwest Illinois Forestry Association (NIFA) will welcome Paul Bane, IDNR District Forester, at the annual dinner meeting on Tuesday, March 29th, at 7 pm at the Mount Carroll Church of God.  For the benefit of woodland owners, Mr. Bane will discuss, using a PowerPoint presentation, the advantages and requirements of an IDNR-approved Forest Management Plan.

His presentation will review the Illinois Forestry Development Act in reference to these plans.  He will also cover what a plan can do to achieve landowner goals, reduce property taxes, and its relationship to EQIP and CSP cost share programs.  And he will describe the plan's prescribed activities, the time period of a plan, and how to renew or update your plan.

Reservations must be made by Sunday, March 20th.  With a reservation, fee for the dinner and program is $20 for NIFA members and their guests or $25 for non-members.  Without a reservation, it is $30.  Dinner fees can be paid when you register here or at the door.  This year, NIFA is pleased to provide a dinner with Arnold Farm pork and beef.

Reservations can be made by phone to Kevin Cahill at 815-979-8900 or by email at or by clicking on the REGISTER button on this page.

The March 29th dinner will begin at 7 pm followed by the evening's program.

The Church of God is located at 816 S. Clay Street, Mount Carroll, Illinois.  Clay Street is Route 78 and the Church is just north of Route 52/64 on the east side of Clay.
